Uncle Kawika Stant Sr., one of the original founders of the Hui O He'e Nalu, has been known to lay down the law with the Hui O He’e Nalu and was the leader club members had to see for Hui O He’e Nalu black shorts till the late 90’s. During his boxing career, he was the light heavyweight champion of the Marine Corps in Hawai'i and Okinawa, as well as other Armed Forces. He was nicknamed the "Hawaiian Charles Bronson" for his quick knockouts and HUGE fists. Uncle Kawika till this day is very recognized and widely respected on the North Shore of O’ahu. Uncle Kawika is father to well known North Shore surfers, David & Darryl Stant.
