Nellscott Reef is an open ocean wave almost a mile off the coast of Oregon that is just slightly visible from land, and has been considered to be only attainable via tow-in. That all changed last weekend at the 4th annual Nellscott Reef Tow Classic, with the first ever paddle-in division of the event being held. It was a winner take all 45-min heat, with nine surfers going for the gold. Kealii took it down with his wave of the day…a 35′+ bomb that made jaws drop, on his 10′6″ quad-fin Stretch.
